Kimberly C. Ford


Kim is Owner and President of theKFORDgroup and has been recognized as a leading tax expert for more than 30 years. Her areas of specialty include: tax and accounting, financial and estate planning, business valuations, forensic accounting, and litigation and trial consulting. In addition, Kim’s expertise includes providing direct financial advisory counsel to business owners across South Texas, assisting them in making critical decisions to their financial well-being. Texas Monthly Magazine has recognized Kim’s achievements with its Five Star Wealth Manager Award in the area of taxation and she has been twice honored with the San Antonio Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Accounting.

In December 2012, Kim was invited to a White House Roundtable to discuss the impending fiscal cliff. Her success in income tax consulting during an era of economic uncertainty has made her highly sought after by individuals, businesses, and government administration groups. Kim’s tax acumen is regularly featured in local and national media outlets, including Entrepreneur Magazine, the San Antonio Business Journal, and the San Antonio Express-News.

In 2014 our firm was awarded a Fast Track Award in the small business category by the San Antonio Business Journal. Also, the weekly publication has recognized the firm the last two years as Best Places to Work, again in the small business category.  

In addition to her designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Kim is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), both of which are certifications awarded by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. As such, she is highly-experienced to perform business valuations and forensic evaluations. In her role as a proven forensic accountant, Kim works closely with attorneys to investigate complex financial situations where fraud is suspected and to provide expert testimony in the courtroom. She is also frequently contracted by attorneys to conduct forensic investigations in divorce proceedings if there is a question of hidden assets. Kim will serve as an active member of the divorce team as the case moves to conclusion.

Growing up in the West Texas town of Andrews, riding horses and competing in rodeos took up all of Kim’s free time as a youngster. While in high school, her passion for math and problem solving led her to a part-time job with a local accounting firm. Kim has been hooked on the public accounting profession since age 16. While earning her accounting degree from Texas Tech University, she worked at regional and national firms, acquiring accounting and income tax knowledge.

Following her graduation from Texas Tech University in 1983, she joined the firm that was to ultimately become theKFORDgroup in San Antonio. Kim began in the firm’s tax and audit departments and within five years she was promoted to Tax Manager. She became a Partner in the firm in 1994. In 2000, Kim was named Managing Partner of the firm then known as Hill & Ford. In 2010, she became the sole owner. The company was renamed theKFORDgroup in January 2016.

Over the years our firm’s team has demonstrated a commitment to supporting San Antonio charities and annually donates a percentage of gross income to offer support. Kim is the Past Board Chair for San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL) where she has served as a board member and Reading Buddy for four years. Kim is also the Past President of the San Pedro Playhouse. She has also served as a board member of Impact San Antonio. The San Antonio Business Journal recognized Kim’s dedication and commitment to San Antonio with its prestigious Women’s Leadership Award in the Volunteer Leadership category in 2014. Kim is a past officer and currently is a Public Policy Committee member for the San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). NAWBO members and officers saluted Kim in 2015 with the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award – Benefactor Winner, for her years of community service.

Kim is the proud mother of daughter Heather Ford Caussade, who is a financial planner for a San Antonio based wealth management firm.
